Gone are the days after graduation, you secure a job for life; that day is gone. There are no safe positions in life. If you think trying to do anything big is risky, wait till they give you the bill for not trying. If you think starting your own business is risky, wait till they give you the tab on downsizing!
In the words of Risk Curt, “if you are not willing to take risk, you cannot grow; if you cannot grow, you cannot become your best; if you cannot become your best, you cannot be happy; if you can’t be happy, then what else is there?”
You are either working today to accomplish your dreams, or spending a lifetime working to accomplish the reams of others. And guess what they have for you? Not much.
So, the major question to ask on the job today is not about what you get; the major question to ask on the job today, is “what am I becoming?”
Maybe that’s why Henry David Thoreau, in a moment of anguish said,
“Oh God, to reach the point of death only to realize that you have never lived, only to realize that you have never scraped the surface of your potential!”
So, true happiness is not contained in what you get; true happiness is contained in what you become.
Have a great week ahead
